I Tipu Aku Au i Tenei Tau 2020

Kiaora Ko Adam toku ingoa and this is a report about my Maori and how it has been.My Maori has improved Quite a lot throughout the years ive been here. Iv'e learn't things like colors,numbers,my mihi and much much more. While iv'e been learning there has been things like Lock down,and more stuff. My goals for this year have been completed I’ve gotten better at math and that was my goal at the start of the year and its done. The best parts of the year has got to be skiing, Jelly park Adrenalin forest, Spencer park camp and surfing they were pretty cool. one thing i've accomplished through the year is being alive through lock down that was challenging because there was NOTHING to do at all. Im feeling pretty nervous and worried about high school and future things. My goals for next year are to get a lot better at math and writing.

Today in cyber smart lesson we had to color in old pictures online then download them 

then we had to blog about it. It was quite challenging because there was only a small amount of pictures and colors 

FAKE NEWS

Every Monday we learn about media with Mark Maddren just in case you don't know who he is

i added his last name.

He teaches cyber smart and computer stuff with us kids.

Today we learned about fake and real links and websites. if a link is spelt correctly and looks trust worthy 

then go onto the site and proof check it. If there are nothing that looks fake then its OK.

If the website is spelt incorrectly or has .co.com at the end then its fake. 

This is a fake news report that i made and the link at the bottom Is NOT real i made that up too.

 

The book club that I am doing

Hello I'm Adam and i'm going to tell you about what a book club is. 

What it is. A book club is a large or small group of readers who read the book they chose. Then talk about the figurative language and the vocabulary they found.

How to enter. people usually join book clubs by signing up for them or they just do it they ask people if they want to join and that's that they joined. 

Me and some of my friends are in a book club .We are reading a book called Dark stone eye. This book

is about the war and how these people fought to protect a brooch which means amulet. 

This book also talks about the war and a man called Billy bobby Burton .

In our book clubs we have to do some things that help with our book club.

The first one is translator. This job is to  collect all of the figurative language that you can find in the book.

Then you discuss the best one and add that to your booklet.

The second one is illustrator. This job is to discuss your favorite part of the story. 

The same as the translator you find the best one and add it to your booklet.
The third one is the editor. The editor's job is to find a word you don't understand 

then write it down in your ticket. if you find a word the same as your other member and you both agree about the word then you write it down in your booklet 

Now the last on is publicist. their job is to find the best paragraph you red if you all agree then you write the page and paragraph in your booklet.

adverts for YR 8 Fun day

In our class we have been learning about social media.Different types of media we have learned 

that media inst only electronics and devices .Media is something that explains what something is and convinces the person to buy it or do what the sign says.

this is a advert that I made that explains the year 8 fun day.

 here are some differences between vertical parallel Horizontal and perpendicular these are some of the things we did in math  you may not be able to see it probably because the i pads were not working with email  

What is a Polygon?

Our class has been learning about polygons. A polygon means many sides .

We have learnt polygons are 2 dimensional shape that have straight lines 

Polygon shapes are shapes that connect together and have no intersecting lines,curved lines and shapes That don't connect. 3D shapes are not polygon shapes either.

cultural festival

On Wednesday 28 October our Kapa Haka group performed in cultural festival 2020 at Horn castle arena.

First we got to school and applied black eye liner and sorted our uniforms. 

Once we got our uniforms on we had morning tea . We then put our lunch boxes away and lined up to go onto the bus. We then got on the bus and waited for the bus to go. the bus ride was normal so don't bother asking how it went. We then arrived at Horn castle and sat down on the grass. We sat on the grass to wait for other schools to arrive. after that we got in the building and sat down for longer to wait for our turn. soon a lady came and gave us instructions for what we need to do. we then walked into the hallway 

making our way to the backstage area. We waited for the group that was on to finish their performance.

the other group got off and we got on. it was very scary at first in front of a lot of people but we got used to it. about 13 minutes later we finished we went out the side and headed for the stair case the teachers told us to be quiet because other people were performing. we headed upstairs to watch other groups perform. We were still in our uniform watching the other groups and it was quite cold. We watched until about 2:15 then got into the bus to get back to school. It took about 30 minutes to get back but we were allgood. We arrived to school and got changed into our uniform and packed up our stuff to go home we left like it was a normal day.

ski trip

On Tuesday 22 of September the year 7&8's went skiing at Porters mountain it was very exiting and challenging. We had the choice to ski or snowboard I chose snowboarding it was like skating but without wheels or concrete. first we got on the bus at 7:00 in the morning. it took 2 hours to get there on the way there we did nothing but play on our phones and talk. we then arrived and it was really sunny and windy .

we went straight into lessons our teacher name was mark he a cool teacher . after about 1 hour we finished our lessons and went into free time me and Ashur went on the pulling thing where you have to put a plastic stick in between your legs. we fell of a lot but we managed to get used to it . i even made it to the top.

sphero ramps

 on Tuesday we yous shpero robots with Elizabeth . what we had to do is we had to make ramps for the  shperos to roll up it was quite challenging for us all but we managed to do it we made it go 49 centimeter's It was pretty fun

 Monday 17 august 

Whaea Willie made us silent read for 15 minutes today . it has taken a while for everyone to settle down but now i actually like it . today we did our reading logs that is where we complete a whole bunch of reading activities throughout the week 

Today i have learned that the man who invented Vaseline cut his arm right open

Every Wednesday morning we do a course with Kevin. what we do is learn how to use Taiaha some

year 7&8 do it first we do a exercise then we get the Taiaha and get straight into it .

we also do bone carving we have been working on it for a while now 

Adrenalin Forest trip

on Wednesday 12 of august we went on a trip to Adrenalin Forest. Adrenalin Forest is a climbing program where you complete obstacles to get to other trees. its quite good and challenging . me Kahukura and Abe Te whetu went with us too. we all went together on the first go then we all split up and went our own ways. Ashur Giovanni Mailli Alexa and Caspian went on the really high trees and all the large flying foxes .           We climbed until we were tired . when we were tired we had something to eat. while i ate i watched Te whetu go down the last flying fox . 

soon after Te whetu finished the course a dog called Wally tried to eat our food but then he went away.  then we went on the small courses . when the guy said we have to get off me Abe and Ezra were still on and almost finished when everyone was waiting me Abe and Ezra THE END

the monster under the bed

One very stormy morning sandy "the girl" woke up from a pretty noisy sleep from the storm she got out of her bed and headed to the kitchen her mum had made porridge for her .so she got a bowl and splatted porridge into her bowl .while she was eating porridge her parents were reading the newspaper .

after about 30 minutes she finished her porridge and headed to her room to get changed. she picked grey and black clothes.  as she was getting changed she noticed something like a claw. when she bent down there was nothing there so she went to her parents and her parents did not believe her .

its was now just past lunch and she was watching TV .as she was watching TV she found a ball that looked like it was hers so she grabbed the ball and headed to her room when she put the ball down she saw a longer claw but then it started talking it said "hello little girl" sandy was terrified she ran back into the lounge and told her parents and they did not  believe her  it was getting dark and sandy was heading to bed 

it was now 12:30 and her parents were asleep it was now time for the monster to attack the monster got out from under the bed and it was as slender as a power pole sandy screamed so hard the monster got scared and amputated sandy's leg right off she screamed harder she lost her voice the monster then disappeared

sandy's leg was laying on the floor blood splatted everywhere all up the walls and on the bed on her toys it was everywhere she was so pale when her leg was ripped off when her parents came in the leg was on the roof then on the floor it was like a mind illusion her parents screamed but her dad did not only to find out her dad was the monster . the monster disappeared trashing the house the girl soon got her leg back unexpectedly the blood disappeared but not all of it 

the creepy doll that sandy had still had blood on it the doll turned around but the mum said "that's enough for now " and she smashed the doll on the floor sandy and her mum went into the lounge and had a hot chocolate

the moon phases

On Tuesday 19/5/2020 

we made a poster of Maori moon phases it was quite 

challenging because we had to find the Maori words and there were no good websites first we made a Practice version then we labeled all of the bits and pieces like the paper and the writing then we made the actual poster that was fun after that we finished the little touches now we are done

lockdown stuff

the past 4 weeks have been very challenging for people all over the globe people have caught Coronavirus and died from it but theres always positivitie in the lockdown
like people have been doing home exercise and projects and even the home learning tv or
papa kainga tv so no need to feel scared just think happy thoughts and you'll be allgood

The camp

One normal Thursday we went to tech like always then after tech.
went went back to school the camp kids ate lunch and talked about the day.
then we started to walk to Spencer park it took 3 hours we walked through sand dunes and forest.
and the beach Te Whetu lost his shoe on the beach he had to walk 1 km to find eventually.
he couldn't find it so he walked back.

So we made it to Spencer park and  Te Whetu and Ashur set up Te Whetu´s tent.
i was looking for mine and lexis bag with all the blankets and other stuff after about an hour.
  i played on the bouncy pillow for a long time then i came back with Ashur and then i found it.
i came with the early van soi put down my stuff in the tent after a while
we had a talk about what we are going to do . then we went back to the tents and did nothing for ages.
we ate food that Te Whetu brang once it got dark the teachers got all of us to come to them.
we talked about the William pike challenge it took ages after that after that we made dinner.
me Te Whetu and Ashur made hot dogs with bacon Ashur accidentally melted his container on the BBQ.
Matt was the taste tester he loved the hot dogs we all had three each they were so delicious after that   

We went to the front of the front of the park and played predator in the dark the campers
started with 6 lives we could hide behind bushes and climb trees all of my team dressed in black.
and ducked down in the ground like army men and waited soon after that Matt played the purge alarm.
and hid behind us Omg it was scary but i didn't get caught . 

The game finished and we all  talked about stuff then at about 12 pm at night me Te Whetu and Ashur
went to sleep.

 Te Whetu kept stealing my pillow in the night i hated it .

It was the next morning we all had to get our  stuff out of the tent because
Te Whetu was unpacking the tent
so i got all of my stuff and put it into my bag while Te Whetu was unpacking i made breakfast sadly.
no one wanted it so i ate it  i loved it =P .

We played on the bouncy pillow for about 30 minutes then we did our activities my activity was 

Bush survival skills we made huts and ate Huhu grubs i didn't eat one it was too yuck 

After the activity we went back to school me and Ezra had to go in the car with Nogo

Ezra was being naughty and there was no room for me in the van so i had to in the car.
